Palolem Beach
Palolem Beach in Goa
If you drove in from the southern state of Karnataka and wanted to discover the nearest, reasonably well-known Goan beach, the chances are that you’d be directed to Palolem. Palolem is a beach of white sand facing a blue bay between two headlands. The little wooded islands on the northern headland look interesting but as we’ve never ventured onto any of them we don’t know what landing on them would be like. If you’re interested, try to persuade one of the fishermen — this is also a fishing beach in Palolem Goa— to ferry you across. This beach is 37 kms away from Margao. Just west of Chaudi, it is one of the most enchanting and gorgeous beaches in Goa. It is relatively deserted, with the backdrop of Western ghats, situated in Southern Taluka of Canacona. |

Situted just about 2-km West Of Chaudi, Canacona District, South Goa is the Palolem Beach. The major attractions nearby this beach are Agonda and Chaudi. The best time to visit Palolem Beach is November to March.
This stretch of white sand dominates the southern coast of Goa. Until a few years back, it was among the virgin beaches of Goa. However, it couldn't escape from the eyes of the tourists. Although a few developments have taken place, the beach still has a soothing aura to it. A large area of the beach now accomodates a lot of small shacks that taper off as you move towards the south.
At the northern end of the beach is a fresh water stream. Across this stream is a tiny, undeveloped island that can be accessed by just swimming across during low tide. However, it is not very safe to do so during high tide.
The other attractions on this beach are the Dolphin cruises and the fishing trips. These are offered at quite a reasonable rate.
Palolem Beach - is also known as "Paradise Beach". This beach in south Goa is about a mile long and it provides seclusion and idyllic scenery.
